Privacy policy
What Recall reads, where it keeps it, and what it never touches. In plain words.
What Recall reads
From your account details, so it knows who you are: your name and email address.
From leetcode.com, and only for the account you're signed into:
- Your public LeetCode username.
- Your solved problems, with difficulty and topic tags.
- Your submissions: whether each passed or failed, when, in which language. For failed ones, the failing test case and the error message.
- The text of the problem you have open, so hints can refer to it.
- Only if you turn on code sharing, which is off by default: the code of your failed and first-accepted submissions, and what's in your editor when you ask for a hint.
- What you type into the tutor.
What Recall never reads
- Your passwords. Never seen, never stored, never sent anywhere.
- Your LeetCode session cookies. They stay in your browser. Recall calls LeetCode from inside your own session, and our server never receives them.
- Any other website. Recall only runs on leetcode.com problem pages.
- Your browsing history, bookmarks, or downloads.
Where it's stored
On a private server run by the developer, in a database only the developer can reach. Your data is tied to your account and never mixed with anyone else's.
Your sign-in session, your settings and your sync progress stay in your own browser. No website can read them.
How hints are generated
When you ask for a hint, Recall sends the problem, the related problems from your history, your latest verdict and your message to a large language model API under a paid commercial agreement. Under that agreement your data is not used to train models. No other third party sees any of it.
What never happens
- Your data is never sold.
- It's never given to anyone else, apart from the model API above.
- It's never used for advertising.
- It's never used to train a model.
Your control
- Code sharing is off by default. You can turn it on or off whenever you like. Turning it off deletes any code already stored.
- Delete my data in the extension popup wipes everything Recall holds about you, straight away.
- Uninstalling removes everything kept in your browser.
Children
Recall isn't intended for anyone under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect their data.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the extension will tell you.
